Founded in 1869 as a 20-bed hospital for children, Children's Hospital Boston today is the nation's leading pediatric medical center, the largest provider of health care to Massachusetts children, and the primary pediatric teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. In addition to 347 pediatric and adolescent inpatient beds and comprehensive outpatient programs, Children's houses the world's largest research enterprise based at a pediatric medical center, where its discoveries benefit both children and adults. More than 500 scientists, including eight members of the National Academy of Sciences, nine members of the Institute of Medicine and 10 members of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute comprise Children's research community. Several members of the #25 Memorial Tournament community have been directly affected by childhood ailments which were treated at Children’s Hospital Boston. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will be made to the cardiac care unit at Children’s. Any future donations can be made directly to the hospital in honor of Carlo DeFabritiis and the #25 Tournament through their fundraising website listed below. We hope that our outreach to the community can benefit such a charity all year round rather than simply once every summer. Please join us in supporting Children’s.

The MSPCA-Angell is a national and international leader in animal protection and veterinary medicine. Founded in 1868, it is the second-oldest humane society in the United States. MSPCA-Angell services include animal protection and adoption, advocacy, humane education, law enforcement and the highest-quality veterinary care available anywhere in the world. They provide direct hands-on care to more than 250,000 animals each year. For more information visit: http://www.mspca.org
The new Helen Schmidt Stanton Clinical Care Center expands the MSPCA-Angell’s current hospital space by almost 25,000 square feet, while the new Copeland Animal Care and Adoption Center is four times larger than the previous space. The new facility will drastically increase their capabilities and allow treatment and care for more animals. And although the construction is finished, there is a need to raise additional funds to complete the project. Carlo was a true animal lover and your support would be much appreciated. Please make any donations to the MSPCA-Angell in honor of Carlo DeFabritiis and the #25 Tournament.

Like the hockey club, The Boston Bruins Foundation is rolling up their sleeves to do good work, concentrating in several key areas that will define their mission. Those areas are Athletic, Academic and Medical. They feel that these three areas best enable the Bruins Foundation to assist in helping communities and groups enrich lives throughout our locality.
The Bruins Foundation has allowed for grant requests and other assistance to boost athletics for children throughout our community. Not limited to just hockey, other groups that have benefited include: The Mayors Cup Roller Hockey Program, The YMCA's of New England Street Hockey Brigades, S.C.O.R.E. BOSTON, The Caddy Scholar Program, The First Tee Program, Mass Maritime Summer Sailing, and Metro Lacrosse. It will be their pleasure to get kids playing and using sports as a vehicle on their road through life. That's a goal and a promise of the Boston Bruins Foundation!
